Mr. Alexander founded The Design Factory, Inc. in 1990. He specializes in classical mechanical design engineering, and is especially valued for his creativity in mechanical design, and his expertise in electronics packaging, sheet metal design, plastic component design, and fixtures and mechanisms. He also provides structural, thermal and shock & vibration simulation and analysis to optimize designs.
Mr. Alexander built The Design Factory, Inc.’s reputation on providing creative and high quality work for clients, with an emphasis on design for manufacturability and follow-through, as designs are implemented in production. This approach of making sure that every client is satisfied, has been responsible for the high percentage of repeat business that the company enjoys.
He is a graduate of The Ohio State University in Mechanical Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Ohio. Mr. Alexander began his career as a US Navy Submarine Nuclear Power Plant Operator and Mechanic and has held engineering positions with Lake Shore Cryrotronics, Inc., Cryosystems, Inc., Anomatic Corporation, and TLA Technology, Inc. He is named on 10 U.S. patents with 2 patents pending.
Mr. Alexander has mentored STEM high school students through the FIRST Robotics program. He previously served as President of Clintonville, Inc. a 501c3 Non-Profit organization dedicated to renewing the business districts in Clintonville, a classic neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio. He currently donates time by serving as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the South Meadow Condominium Trust.
